In recent years, the number of people across the world without access to electricity has continued to rise, reaching nearly 755 million people. Among them, roughly 260 million children live entirely without access to power.
In 2013, with a couple of collaborators, our founder headed completely off-grid to live with subsistence farmers for a month in northern Senegal. The aim of the trip was simple but ambitious: to gain a deep, authentic understanding of these communities and work together to create genuinely impactful development projects.
What quickly became overwhelmingly apparent was the dire need for electricity—particularly for the children. Without light after sunset, studying stopped. Education stalled. Potential was lost in the dark.

We don't just send funds to a void and hope for the best. We actively partner with grassroots experts, like Family Impact in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, to ensure every single item reaches the children who need it most.
